Composite Technican
Basler Turbo Conversions takes the legendary DC-3 and puts it through the industry's most extensive remanufacturing process. Built into each airframe is the sum of our knowledge and our proprietary processes, along with state-of-the-art components, world-class Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67R engines and Hartzell propellers. The BT-67 modernization includes a complete airframe overhaul, aerodynamic improvements, structural modifications that increase strength and improve performance, and new systems that improve reliability.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, excellent team member to join our Composite team. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of molds and forms
- Lay-up of composite materials to molds
- Mark and cut tape, woven material, honeycomb, adhesive and similar materials by following templates, guides, specific dimensions, sequences and specific instructions
- Route, drill, trim and sand to blueprint dimensions and tolerances. Vacuum bag parts for cure.
- Repair composite components for aircraft using appropriate lay-up techniques
- Fit and smooth successive layers of materials to necessary to secure build-up free from wrinkles, air pockets and voids. Following directions and instructions.
- Assemble aircraft components using structural adhesives, rivets and thread fasteners
- Prepare surface and paint composite and metal components including bodywork, contour shaping and sanding.
- Apply spray application of epoxy paints, urethane and water based epoxy coatings using a high volume low-pressure spray gun
- Assist in the development of shop aides to facilitate fabrication, trimming and assembly as required
- Check expiration dates of materials prior to use
- Prepare proper mixes of resins and catalysts
- Maintain records as required
- Support the quality process by keeping work area in an orderly fashion by returning tools, equipment and materials to proper storage areas
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with established policy and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned and/or required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have good verbal communication skills and be able to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions
- Must be familiar with blueprints and other similar drawings and documents
- Ability to do simple mathematical calculations
- Be familiar with a variety of machinist hand tools and measuring instruments
- May require respirator certification
- Must be able to work in a loud environment
- Work extended hours as required
- Be able to bend, twist, rotate and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to read and interpret technical publications, work orders, engineering documents and drawings.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be detail oriented
- Must be able to take direction
- Must possess general knowledge of practices and procedures used to composite parts
